Your Service Area

The main reason to join the Local 4 Network is to take your wasted web traffic and convert it into ad credits that provide you the visibility to prospects your want and need.

Defining your service area is important because:

  1. Geographic Service Area determines when to show professional profiles of others in your field when someone is reading one of your articles
  2. Geographic Service Area determines how often and to whom to show your ad when articles not written by you are being read

Set your Geographic Service Area too tight and potential customers won’t see your ads (and others in your field just outside of your area will be shown).  Set your area to loosely (wide) and you’ll burn ad credits faster against people who are less likely to become leads or customers.

If your business has state regulatory issues that help you define potential customers you may want to consider a combination of state and radius parameters.  For example, a 50 mile radius of NYC covers three total states.  But using state along isn’t always good because LA and SFO are both in California, but for most professionals  and professions prospects won’t be living near the other city.

NOTE: We use IP address location approximation which also isn’t perfect in understanding location, so there is some variance between estimated location and actual location.
